My story
In January 2007, at the age of 51, I joined a 12-step program and began my recovery from food addiction, losing 75 pounds in the process. Read more…

I am deeply grateful for all the kindnesses, large and small, offered to me in recovery. Here I am... alive… still making progress … still not perfect … finding a new way forward in a growing community of women and men who share a lot in common around food and life.

Astonished!

Where did my limp go? It’s gone! This is astonishing to me! It’s something I’ve wished for, but never expected it would actually happen.

Confidence

I used to think that I would feel more confident if I was thin, married, financially secure, dressed correctly, and especially if I was successful at work.

Boxing

I still sometimes think I could drink again.

Happiness

I am feeling very well. So far, it’s just one of those unpredictably happy days on the path of life.
